The PHAROS Ireland Mega Event will bring together stakeholders across science, policy, and practice to co-create solutions for marine restoration and sustainable blue economy development. Taking place 26–28 May 2026 in Kerry and West Cork, Ireland, Blue4All will play a key role in advancing MPA collaboration, tools, and knowledge exchange.
The PHAROS Ireland Mega Event, organised under the PHAROS project, will take place from 26 to 28 May 2026 in South-West Ireland (Kerry and West Cork), bringing together government representatives, researchers, industry, communities, and other stakeholders to address marine ecosystem challenges through a Living Lab approach.
As part of the programme, Blue4All will be actively involved in the MPA Platform (Session 2.2): Policy Round Table for MPAs, which will focus on local marine protected areas and collaboration with sister projects such as Blue4All and BioProtect. This session will showcase the MPA Solutions Hub and present results from socio-economic and ecological tool testing, highlighting how practical, co-developed tools can support more effective and inclusive MPA management.
More broadly, the event will feature a diverse programme including Living Lab launches, stakeholder workshops, demonstrations, and field visits, all aimed at fostering collaboration, innovation, and real-world solutions for marine restoration, ocean literacy, and sustainable blue economy development.
